Only 2 more sleeps!

So I have decided to homeschool my kids....for now anyways. I have also decided to go Gluten and Dairy free. Dominic will be following me in this venture as I feel he may have a sensitivity too. Jodi Lin's diet is changing as well but I am not going to fight to take so much away from her. I am trying to eliminate the additives and preservatives from her diet. She will eat a lot of what Dominic and I do....but I will allow her to continue drinking her milk and eating her bread...etc.

We are just going to start both adventures on Tuesday as I figure it makes the most sense. I have turned the one room downstairs into a school room and I think it looks quite cute. I will have to take some pictures and post them on here. I am getting excited about schooling but am still not totally sure how I am doing it as I figure we will experiment and see what works best. I have not bought an organized curriculum. I am going to be doing most of this myself with the help from some books and other homeschooling moms. I have also looked at the ontario curriculum guidelines so I have an understanding of where a grade one should be. Dominic is doing school as well. He loves to do as his sister does, so I bought some preschool work books. They teach colours, numbers, letters, cuting and pasting....etc. He has lots of fun with them and has actually learned a lot of his letters and colours from the work we have done throughout the summer. The playroom is right next to the school room so that if Dominic is done and Jodi Lin still has more to do....he can go and play. Although Dominic does not normally play that well on his own.

I would like to keep everyone updated on here as to what we are learning and how the kids are doing at home. I would also like to blog on how the diet is going and working for us. This diet could potentially bring my hair back and help with other health issues as well as help Dominic find all those words he is missing. I will keep you posted. Pray for patience and consistency for me!

Thank you!
